Northeastern University London (NU London) today launches a unique and exciting opportunity for its students to study for UK and US undergraduate degrees, simultaneously. Available to students commencing their degree at the London-based University from September 2023 onwards, it will be known as the ‘Double Degree’. Graduates will be awarded a UK degree from Northeastern University London and a US degree from Northeastern University (NU), ensuring that their degrees are recognised globally, enhancing their employability.
Students who decide to pursue a Double Degree can choose a four year Double Degree programme of studies, which includes a fourth year of study at one of Northeastern University’s US campuses. Alternatively, students can choose an accelerated, three-year Double Degree programme, which will incorporate additional summer courses to fulfill the additional academic requirements of a USA degree.
Whether they choose the four-year or three-year option, students taking the Double Degree will have the opportunity to spend up to 18 months of their studies overseas. This could be in one of Northeastern University’s Boston, Massachusetts or Oakland, California campuses, or at a wide range of other global destinations via NU’s Dialogues of Civilizations program. Studying abroad brings a wide range of opportunities for personal growth combined with academic, professional and cultural experiences, while expanding students’ global networks and providing increased work and experiential learning opportunities.
Students entering the University in 2023 and choosing to take the Double Degree option will benefit from generous scholarships reducing the cost of US tuition for their fourth year of studies to a level equivalent to the prevailing tuition fees charged by NU London. However, flights, insurance, accommodation and living costs are not included.
