Our carefully considered application process and interviews mean we can be sure that applicants who successfully complete our rigorous selection process with thrive at the University and so this decision was made with this in mind, whilst factoring in the disruption and uncertainty the pandemic brought to education during this difficult time. 3. Will the coronavirus pandemic impact my application?
Our Admissions Team continues to process all applications within our usual timescales.
We process all of our applications as soon as possible. Any delays that might arise may be for one of the following reasons: a delay in receiving your academic reference from your academic referee if you are a direct applicant, if we require further information from you in order to further supplement your application, or if you are looking to transfer into the second year and we need to cross-credit your modules in order to see if you are eligible for transfer. In these circumstances, one of our Admissions Team will be in contact with you to ensure that everything is in hand and to answer any queries you may have.
4. Will I be able to come and study on campus?
Teaching Update September 2021:
We have recommenced face-to-face teaching for the University’s undergraduate and postgraduate academic timetable. In addition to face-to-face teaching, students are able to access, via Canvas, a wide range of online tools and resources to support and enhance their learning, including expanded faculty drop-in hours via Zoom.
On the happenstance that a member of Faculty receives notification that they need to self-isolate, as per government guidelines, the member of Faculty will be unable to provide face-to-face teaching and teaching will be issued via Zoom instead, where possible. Students will also be required to attend teaching via Zoom if they are notified that they need to self-isolate.
The recent refurbishment of Devon House delivers increased measures to ensure proper ventilation and to introduce air exchange and filter measures that are above the required regulations. These measures eliminate any need to open windows for ventilation or temperature adjustments.
A new Mechanical Ventilation Heat Recovery (MVHR) system has been installed to increase the amount of outside air circulating within. This system will work together with the existing building system to provide two air changes per hour.
We will continue to be guided by the UK government’s regulations and sector best practices alongside our goal of providing an outstanding educational experience to our students. If any changes become necessary we will post any updates to the plan on our website.
5. Will I have to visit Northeastern University London for my interview?
UK undergraduate students will have the option to attend and interview in-person or via Zoom. All other students (including all postgraduate) will have an interview via Zoom.
6. I've just had my interview! When will I know the outcome?
We aim to communicate the outcome of the interview within 48 hours, but it might take up to five working days. If you are successful, your formal offer will be issued within a fortnight.
7. When is the deadline for me to respond to my offer?
If you applied to study with us via UCAS, the deadline for you to respond to your offer from us is the response deadline date in your UCAS Track. This is because students who apply via UCAS have to wait until they have received decisions from all of the universities they have applied to before they can make their final decisions regarding their ‘Firm’ and ‘Insurance’ choices. The exact date will be detailed in your UCAS profile once you have received all your decisions.
If you have applied to study with us via the Common App or via our direct application form, the deadline for you to respond to your offer from us is detailed in your official offer letter.
8. I would like to defer my offer until next year, can I do this?
You can defer your year of entry by one year – for example, if you made an application in 2022, you could defer your place to begin your studies in 2023. You can do this on initial submission of your application, or later in the cycle should your plans change. Please be reassured that your decision to defer does not impact your application negatively. Please also note that we can only defer your place by one-year maximum, after this, you will be required to submit a new application.
9. I need a student visa to study in the UK. In light of COVID 19 have there been changes to the application process of which I should be aware?
