Terms of Reference – Panel to Evaluate a Partner Institution

Context

In line with Northeastern University London’s Academic Quality Framework Chapter 15: Collaborative Provision (AQF15), the Faculty concerned normally visits the place of delivery to approve a proposed course(s). A panel conducts the visit and assists the Faculty in assessing the capacity of the partner institution to assure a learning experience of a quality suitable for students to achieve the course’s learning outcomes.

Terms of Reference

  1. Evaluate whether the proposed course(s) is set at the required academic level and, where appropriate, that it is consistent with the relevant subject benchmarks.
  2. Identify whether the course(s) can be delivered, learning outcomes achieved, and quality and standards maintained.
  3. Ascertain whether the course assesses student learning outcomes appropriately.
  4. Evaluate whether teaching staff at the proposed partner institution are adequately skilled and receive sufficient training and development to support the delivery of the course(s).
  5. Investigate whether the proposed partner institution is appropriately resourced to undertake its responsibilities as set out in AQF15.
  6. Report its findings on the above to the partner institution and to the relevant Faculty.
  7. Make recommendations on the proposal specifying any conditions required for the proposal to proceed.
