Undergraduate Scholarships

All undergraduate students will be considered for an academic merit scholarship during the application process. These scholarships are competitive and not every student who is offered admission to the University will ultimately receive one. Scholarships are awarded to applicants based on academic achievement and University resources.

If you are eligible for a scholarship, an Undergraduate Recruitment Officer will contact you directly by phone to inform you of the award. You will then receive a follow-up email confirming the details of your scholarship.

You do not need to apply for the scholarship. It will be automatically awarded and will be taken off your tuition fees when you enrol with the University in September 2024.

The scholarship is only applicable to the first year of undergraduate study.

Please note, you will only be awarded the scholarship if you meet the conditions of your offer.

Bursaries for Home students

The University awards bursaries on a yearly basis and at two levels:

  • Household income up to £24,999: £3,000 bursary
  • Household income £25,000 to £50,778: £2,000 bursary

Students who meet the eligibility criteria for a Bursary Uplift will receive a further £1,000 to their award. For a full breakdown, students should review the NU London Bursary Policy here. Students who can evidence childcare responsibilities to dependents under 18 will be eligible for a further one-off bursary award uplift of £400, in addition to any standard bursary award. Additional documentation will be requested.

You can take your bursary as cash to help with your living costs, to help pay your accommodation, or even to help with tuition fees. It is up to you how you choose to use your bursary. Bursary funds will be disbursed in two payments over the academic year.

You can apply directly for a bursary here.   (Please only fill out this form if you are a home fees student)

Please note that in some cases, we may require additional information in order to carry out our assessment. If this applies, we will contact you.

If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact us at bursary@nulondon.ac.uk

Please note that only the following home fees students are eligible to apply for a means-tested bursary:

  • UK nationals who have lived in the UK, EEA, Switzerland, or Gibraltar for at least the last three years AND have lived continuously there between 31 December 2020 and the start of their course

Maintenance loans for Home students

Students who are resident and settled in England may be eligible for a maintenance loan from the Student Loans Company. The amount of loan you receive will vary according to your household income. You can use your loan to pay for accommodation and living costs such as transportation and food. For further details on maintenance loan amount and eligibility, please visit gov.uk/student-finance.

Paying your fees

We are happy to receive payment of your fees in one lump sum, by term or by monthly Direct Debit.
