“Catch me outside, how about that?”: An Introduction to Consent and Crimes Against the Person

Attending a university taster lecture is an exciting opportunity to proactively explore and deepen your subject interest, above and beyond your school curriculum, and can enhance your future university application. Through providing a real ‘taste’ of university-level study, it can also help you to confirm your subject choice.

Why is a sanctioned boxing match treated differently to a pub brawl when both instances involve the consent of the individuals involved? How does the state determine what actions should be punishable under criminal law?

Join this lecture and choose your corner: moralism or liberalism. And find out why you really shouldn’t ask someone to meet you outside the school gates at 15:15 to settle a score!

This taster will also include an introductory overview of studying at Northeastern University London, and there will be ample time for Q&A with Faculty and Student Ambassadors.
