Social and Cognitive Psychology: What Psychology Can Teach Us About Dealing with Ourselves and Others
Attending a university taster lecture is an exciting opportunity to proactively explore and deepen your subject interest, above and beyond your school curriculum, and can enhance your future university application. Through providing a real ‘taste’ of university-level study, it can also help you to confirm your subject choice.
In this taster lecture, we will be looking into two domains of Psychology: the cognitive and the social side. You will learn about some of the cognitive biases we hold that can be shaped and influenced by social pressures, but also situational factors such as the current emotional state someone finds themself in. You will get an insight into personality and how both personality and perception can influence behaviour as an individual, and in social contexts.
This taster will also include an introductory overview of studying at Northeastern University London, and there will be ample time for Q&A with Faculty and Student Ambassadors.
