LEARNING AT NORTHEASTERN UNIVERSITY LONDON

Engage with the world, from the vantage point of a culturally diverse global city.

A digital map of Europe is shown with glowing blue points representing city lights. A bright light is centered around the region of France, highlighting it against the darker, surrounding areas. The overall effect is a stylized nighttime view.

Leadership Styles in Project Management

This lecture is an introduction to our MSc Project Management programme

Leadership for global workforces. What kind of leader do you want to be?

Speaker: Dr Eamon Mulligan, Assistant Professor in Project Management
Date: Thursday 12th December, 6:00pm (GMT – UK Time) 7:00pm (CET), 2:00pm (EST)

Legacy leadership theory focuses on the relationship between leaders and followers, the leader often assuming a charismatic hero identity. When we view leadership through the lens of responsibility, however, the relationship between leaders and their wider stakeholder community becomes imperative for project management to embrace much wider multi-capital perspectives.

In this session, we’ll tackle the critical question: ‘leadership for what, why, for whom, and where?’ We’ll also explore how globalisation and internationalisation are reshaping the concept of change, pushing leaders to think beyond borders and embrace a more inclusive, global mindset.

This session will also include an introduction to postgraduate study at Northeastern University London, an overview of the MSc Project Management programme, and live Q&A with the panel.
