Sustainability in Project Management

This lecture is an introduction to our MSc Project Management programme

Sustainability and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs)

Speaker: Dr David Fuschi, Associate Professor in Project Management

Date: Tuesday 3rd December, 6:00pm (GMT – UK Time) 7:00pm (CET), 2:00pm (EST)

Our planet is like a boat in a vast ocean, we have limited resources, and we need to use them well or we will deplete them. The way we’re currently consuming them – at an accelerating pace – threatens not just the environment but our very existence. As we confront growing environmental, social, and economic challenges, the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) provide a comprehensive framework for building a better, more sustainable future for everyone.

SDGs play a part in shaping the future of our planet. By embracing these goals, we can tackle urgent global issues like poverty, inequality, climate change, and environmental degradation, while promoting peace, justice, and equality.

In this session, we’ll explore the transformative impact of the SDGs on global development, examining  successful projects and innovative practices that are driving progress towards these goals. You’ll also learn how continuous learning and adaptive strategies are crucial for adopting sustainable methods that keep us competitive in an ever-changing world.

This session will also include an introduction to postgraduate study at Northeastern University London, an overview of the MSc Project Management programme, and live Q&A with the panel.
