Registration & Tickets
What is Tassel?
Tassel is the website where you register yourself and your guest for graduation attendance.
The information you enter on Tassel will be used to announce your name and your accomplishment when you walk the stage at the ceremony. Upon arrival to the ceremony, you will be given your own unique Tassel card, which will be scanned before you walk the stage – you must keep this safe until you have walked the stage at the ceremony.
How do I log in to my Tassel account?
You will receive an email from graduation@nulondon.ac.uk inviting you to set up your Tassel account and register for the ceremony.
You will also be able to secure up to 4 guest tickets here.
Do I need to separately register for graduation?
Yes, registration is all done though Tassel, along with securing guest tickets.
As a graduand, you do not need a ticket.
How do I secure my guest tickets?
You can secure up to 4 guest tickets through Tassel.
Once registered, your Tassel account will have your assigned tickets ready for you to access.
To see them, log in to your Tassel account, go to ‘active ceremonies’ and click ‘view’.
You can get your tickets to your guests in the following ways:
Option 1: Emailing
On each ticket, enter your guests email address to send their ticket directly to them. Make sure they have received their ticket and have it ready and easily accessible on the day.
Option 2: Downloading
Download your tickets and present graduation staff with 1 ticket per guest upon arrival when you check in. (Note: this does not include yourself – graduands do not require a ticket to check in)
Option 3: Printing
Download your tickets and print them off, bring all these tickets with you to graduation and give one to each guest to check in with. Make sure not to lose them or have a backup downloaded on to your phone.
Can I get more than 4 guest tickets?
After the registration deadline has passed, the University will allocate any remaining tickets on a first come first serve basis. If you would like to request spare tickets, you will need to email graduation@nulondon.ac.uk. We will record your request and allocate tickets as we are able.
How do I download the tickets to my phone?
Once registered, your Tassel account will have your assigned guest tickets ready for you to access.
To see them, log in to your Tassel account, go to ‘active ceremonies’ and click ‘view’.
Select the ticket you would like to download and click ‘Print Selected Tickets’.
Note: as a graduand, you do not need a ticket.
Can children attend the ceremony? Will they need one of my guest tickets?
Children under 3 do not need a ticket if they don’t occupy a separate seat in the theatre.
Children must always be accompanied by an adult.
In the instance a child becomes distressed/restless, we do ask that parents/carers step outside of the ceremony room to settle them.
I’m a Degree Apprenticeship graduand, will my employer be able to attend?
Yes, employers of the Degree Apprenticeship graduands are invited to attend the ceremony by our Business Development Team.
Note: you do not need to use one of your guest tickets to invite your employer, they will be sent their own, provided they RSVP to the invite sent out by our Apprenticeship Department.
Certificates
When will I receive my certificate?
Your certificate will be given to you on the day of the graduation ceremony. If you do not attend the ceremony, your certificate will be sent to your home address by recorded delivery shortly afterwards. To check or update the home address recorded on your student record, please log in to Quercus, select the profile name in the top right corner, and then click on the edit icon next to the address fields.
How will my name be printed on the certificate?

If you have changed your legal name since then and have not already informed the Registry Team, please refer to the university’s Student Name Change Guidance & Procedure.
Academic dress and dress code
Where do I hire my gown?
You must hire your gown through the Ede & Ravenscroft registration page. Once you enter the institution name ‘Northeastern University London’, you will need to enter your student ID (note: this is different from the number in your student email), your surname and student email.
You will need to enter your height, head measurement and any other requirements to hire the correctly sized gown and hat.
Will my gown be sent to my home address?
No, you will receive your hired gown at the graduation venue when you arrive. Ede & Ravenscroft staff will be present to assist all graduands.
If you have not hired your gown online, there is no guarantee that you will receive a gown on the day of the ceremony. Graduands must be gowned to take part in the ceremony.
Where do I return my gown?
There will be a drop off point for gowns at the reception in the foyer. Please follow the signs or ask a Student Ambassador for the gown return.
Do I have to wear a gown?
Yes, graduating students and Faculty are required to wear a gown.
Graduands are required to wear the Northeastern University London academic dress.
Faculty are required to wear their academic dress from the institution from which they were awarded their highest degree.
What colour is my gown?
Your gown will be black. You will also be given a hood.
Hood colours differ by degree level:
Undergraduate degrees – red with white lining and a black trim.
Postgraduate degrees – red with white lining and a gold trim.
What is the dress code?
Ceremonies are smart occasions. From the elbow down, your arm will be visible against the gown, so you may wish to wear a jacket. Guests are requested to dress formally.
Photography
Where do I have my photo taken?
You can purchase photography at the same time as you hire your gown on the Ede & Ravenscroft registration page.
Photography can also be purchased on the day of the ceremony. However, we highly recommend purchasing it ahead of time, as this service cannot be guaranteed unless prebooked.
All photos will be shipped to the address provided by the student.
There will also be photos taken during the ceremony as graduands walk the stage and other photo opportunities at the reception. These will be shared after the ceremony.
Event schedule
Will my guests receive a schedule prior to the event?
Graduands will receive a ‘know before you go’ email approximately one week prior to graduation. Whilst this is tailored to the graduand, you are welcome to share this email with your guests, as it will include an overview of the day.
A graduation programme will be published on the Northeastern University website which will list the names and degrees of all graduating students, a schedule for the day and details on the alumni network. This will be accessible through a QR code upon
arrival.
What to do if I am late / ill on the day?
We highly recommend that everyone gives themselves plenty of time to arrive before 12:00, giving yourselves extra time to account for any travel delays etc. If you do arrive late, if you arrive before 12:30 we will try our best to gown you and have you join the ceremony.
If you are going to be late or are unable to attend at all, please let us know by emailing graduation@nulondon.ac.uk.
What happens if my guest is late?
If guests arrive late, they will be held at the door by a staff member and allowed in at a point when it is least disturbing for the audience. We request that guests arrive with their graduand as this will allow for a smoother check in process.
Ceremony
Do you allocate seats for guests?
No, guests will be seated row by row as they enter the concert hall for the ceremony.
If I’m a graduand, can I sit with my friends?

How long is the ceremony?
The ceremony is scheduled to take place from 13:00 for approximately 1 hour.
Can I leave midway through the ceremony?

What is at the post ceremony reception?
The reception begins immediately after the graduation ceremony concludes and will be held in the foyer. Canapes and drinks will be served, and we will have an instant print photo opportunity available for no charge.
