Universal Design for Learning (UDL)

Course Design Review

The Belonging Team reviewed faculty course designs and found excellent inclusive teaching practices, including co-creation approaches, diverse assessment methods, respectful handling of challenging topics, accessible flipped learning models, and global perspectives in curricula.

Experience Education Sessions

The Belonging Team hosts regular professional development sessions with workshops on topics like helping faculty to navigate teaching material with problematic or complex disciplinary legacies. Strategies discussed included embedding positionality in coursework, contextualizing curricula historically, and modelling respect for diverse perspectives.

Conflict in Learning: Our Belonging Deep Dives Reading Group

Ourall-staff reading group explores big topics in a safe space such asusing constructive conflict as a teaching tool, with participants from across faculties discussing how to encourage critical thinking through debate and complex topic exploration.

Apprenticeship Recognition

The university won “Best Apprenticeship in IT” at national awards and was shortlisted for “Learning Provider of the Year” at the Multicultural Apprenticeship Awards, recognized for high retention rates and strong learner support.
