Biography

Amirmohammad Farzaneh is a Research Associate working with Osvaldo Simeone in the Intelligent Networked Systems Institute (INSI) at Northeastern University, London. He is also a Non-Stipendiary Lecturer in Engineering Science at Oriel College, University of Oxford.

His research interests lie at the intersection of information theory, statistical learning, and artificial intelligence, with a focus on statistically valid model and hyperparameter selection, risk control, and reliable decision-making under uncertainty. His work develops principled frameworks based on multiple hypothesis testing, conformal inference, and information-theoretic tools, with applications to machine learning, wireless communications, and large-scale AI systems. Recent contributions include methods for multi-objective hyperparameter selection, counterfactual inference with statistical guarantees, and online conformal anomaly detection.

Amirmohammad received his PhD in Engineering Science from the University of Oxford in 2024, where he was supervised by Professor Justin P. Coon. He holds a BSc in Electrical Engineering from Sharif University of Technology. He has published in leading venues in information theory and machine learning, including NeurIPS, ISIT, EUSIPCO, and IEEE journals.
