Biography

Dr Chunyan Wu is an Assistant Professor of Communication Studies in the Faculty of Social Sciences at Northeastern University London. She serves as the Course Leader for Introduction to Communication Studies and Global and Intercultural Communication, and also teaches Public Speaking. She is an Affiliate Faculty member of the College of Arts, Media and Design (CAMD) at Northeastern University, Boston.

Dr Wu holds a PhD in Communication and Media Studies from Loughborough University and an MA in Mass Communications from the University of Leicester. Her research examines how digital media shape communication and public discourse, with a particular focus on social media platforms, digital activism, and transnational politics. She also explores the transformation of journalism, political communication, and cultural narratives in digitally mediated contexts.

Dr Wu’s research interests lie principally at social media analysis, digital journalism, political communication, international communication, and media and cultural analysis.

Teaching

Dr Wu teaches Introduction to Communication Studies, Global and Intercultural Communication, and Public Speaking. Prior to joining Northeastern University London, she was an Associate Lecturer in Public Relations and Global Communications at Newcastle University.
