Biography


Dr Dilshad Sarwar is a senior academic leader whose work sits at the intersection of strategic leadership, research excellence, educational innovation and knowledge exchange. She has shaped institutional strategy across teaching, research, curriculum development and external engagement, combining academic vision with operational delivery to drive sustainable organisational change. Her leadership is characterised by collaboration, inclusivity and a strong commitment to developing people, fostering high-performing academic communities and creating environments in which staff and students can thrive.

Her strategic expertise spans academic planning, organisational transformation, quality enhancement, curriculum innovation and partnership development. She has led major institutional initiatives, overseen programme validation and review, developed interdisciplinary academic provision, and contributed to the establishment of research centres, digital innovation initiatives and strategic collaborations with industry, government and international partners. Alongside leadership responsibilities, she has maintained a sustained commitment to advancing equality, diversity and inclusion as an integral part of institutional culture, curriculum enhancement and research practice.
As an educator, Dr Sarwar has taught across undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels, designing and leading programmes that integrate emerging technologies with contemporary business and societal challenges.
