Dr. Dina Rabie

Biography

Dr. Dina Rabie is a behavioural/experimental economist who is currently an Assistant Professor in Economics at Northeastern University London. Dr. Rabie is a Visiting Fellow at London School of Economics. She is also the Scientific Advisor and Co- founder of the Experimental and Behavioural Economics Laboratory (EBEL) at the British University in Egypt; a unique laboratory in the Arabic-speaking Middle East and North Africa region founded in cooperation with the Research Laboratory of the University of Hamburg in 2018.

Dr. Rabie obtained her PhD in Economics from the University of Hamburg, Germany, in May 2021. Prior to joining Northeastern University London in 2023, Dr. Rabie held the positions of Behavioural Laboratory manager at the LSE, Research Fellow and the Experimental Laboratory Manager at Nottingham Trent University Business School, and Assistant Professor in Economics, and Director of EBEL at the British University in Egypt.

Research

Dr. Rabie’s research focuses on understanding the individual decision-making process, and how differences in cultures and institutions may influence individual behaviour. In her research, Dr. Rabie employs students and non-students subjects pools and collaborates on multiple multi-country research projects. Her research has been published in leading Behavioural Economics and Social Psychology journals such as Nature Human Behavior, Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, Economic Inquiry, and Journal of Personality and Social Psychology.
