Biography



Helen is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Biology. She has an undergraduate degree in Biochemistry (Manchester) and a PhD in Molecular Cell Biology (UCL). She was an industrial trainee at GlaxoWellcome, and has mentored many undergraduate and postgraduate students working in industry. Helen joined the degree apprenticeship team at Northeastern University London in September 2021. Prior to that, she had spent 12 years at the University of Exeter, where she developed and delivered a range of degree programmes and courses for bioscience and medical students. She has a long-standing interest in widening participation and inclusion issues, and was responsible for widening participation and public engagement strategy for Biosciences at Exeter.
