Biography

Joke is an Assistant Professor in AI and Data Science. She holds a BTech in Computer Engineering from LAUTECH, Nigeria, and both an MEng and a PhD from Covenant University, Nigeria. With over ten years of experience in academic research and teaching, she has co-led impactful projects in enterprise AI, information retrieval, and health informatics.

At the Centre for Apprenticeships in NU London, Joke teaches various data science courses, including Data-Driven Analytics, Social Context of AI and Data Science, Data Mining and Machine Learning, and Implementing Data Science.

Before joining Northeastern University London in 2024, she led the BEng Computer Engineering programme and served on the Postgraduate Board at Covenant University, representing her department. Joke is also a Certified Agile Project Management and AWS Machine Learning – Specialty practitioner.

Her research focuses on developing computational models using machine learning, deep learning, and representation learning to drive innovation and digital transformation in image informatics, health informatics, natural language processing (NLP), and large- scale data analytics.
