Biography
I am a third year PhD candidate in Medieval Art History researching wall paintings of the Doom (or Last Judgment) found in East Anglia and Essex. My research interests include:
- Late medieval wall and panel paintings
- Theology and eschatology
- Medieval death and commemoration
- Visual culture as a source of social history
- History of the body and phenomenology
- History of emotions
- Marginalia and marginal imagery
Qualifications
I have a master’s degree in law from Cambridge University and an MA in the History of Art from the Courtauld Institute. I also hold a certificate in Foundations of Evidence-based Postsecondary Teaching (INPR 5100)

Experience
Upon qualifying as a solicitor, I specialised in construction and engineering law, working for a number of years as a partner and team leader in a City of London law firm. I returned to full time education in 2021 to pursue my passion for art history.
Teaching
Undergraduate lectures and workshops on pre-modern art and architecture, including a workshop on art and death with a global perspective.
