Biography
Naomi is Deputy Dean and Associate Dean, Innovation and Enterprise at Northeastern University London. As a founding member of the institution and its original Head of Philosophy, she has played a significant role in its growth and development into a University, as well as in its academic integration as an enabler and innovator within the global experiential Northeastern University network.
Before joining Northeastern University London, Naomi lectured in moral and political philosophy at the University of Bristol (Students’ Union Teaching Excellence Award, 2010), taught and examined for the University of London (2006-2008), and was General Editor with A.C. Grayling and Andrew Pyle of a substantial reference work (Continuum Encyclopedia of British Philosophy, 2006, a multi-year project involving 2,500 entries contributed by over 500 international experts). Before that she was a founding member of a 3-person start-up that scaled (1998- ongoing), creating print ad campaigns for major international brands such as Alexander McQueen, Comme des Garçons, and Lanvin. Naomi holds a first-class BA (Hons) degree in philosophy from the University of Cambridge, was a Henry Fellow at Harvard University, and wrote her doctoral degree (‘Authority and the Individual’) with an AHRC award at Birkbeck College, University of London.
Northeastern University was founded on a tradition of engagement with the world and is defined by its commitment to experiential learning. In her current role, Naomi collaborates across the institution to help bring this into reality, developing and instigating wide-ranging, dynamic, interactions between the University and the wider world.
