Naomi Wynter-Vincent

Biography

Dr Naomi Wynter-Vincent is Associate Professor in Innovation and English at Northeastern University London, teaching chiefly within the Business and Project Management team.

She is Programme Lead for the MSc International Business.

Dr Wynter-Vincent developed and led the first-year course ‘Innovation and Enterprise’ (now renamed INNO2301 Innovation!), developed and course-leads the compulsory third-year course ‘Innovation!’, and developed and course-leads the postgraduate elective course ‘Innovation in Organisations’. She is course-leading Final Projects for business students during the 2026-27 academic year, and has supervised undergraduate business dissertations.

Naomi previously taught First-Year Writing Studio within English, and has contributed to a number of other English, Business, and interdisciplinary courses and programmes, including MSc Global Investment Banking. She was involved in developing and still teaches a number of modules across two courses of the MA Contemporary Creative Writing, and has supervised and examined students taking the publication portfolio.

Her teaching specialisms include innovation and entrepreneurship, academic writing, creative writing, and psychoanalysis. Naomi holds a first degree in Social and Political Sciences from the University of Cambridge, two Masters degrees in Creative and Critical Writing (University of Sussex) and Theoretical Psychoanalytic Studies (University College London), and a PhD in Creative and Critical Writing from the University of Sussex.

Her first book, Wilfred Bion and Literary Criticism, was published by Routledge in 2021.

Research

Dr Wynter-Vincent’s has research interests in critical innovation studies, theories of learning and thinking, creative writing, and the literary medical humanities, with a particular focus on experimental literatures and creative process; the history and theory of somatic, complementary and esoteric therapies; and the psychoanalytic theory of Wilfred Bion.

Naomi presents regularly at academic conferences, which have included BAMS (British Association for Modernist Studies), AMH (Association for Medical Humanities), the Commission on Science and Literature, and the Northern Network for Medical Humanities Research.
