Biography
Xuan-Chen is a PhD student under the supervision of Prof. Giovanni Petri in the Network Science Institute at Northeastern University London. His research focuses on network science, integrating statistical physics, information theory, and Bayesian inference.
He is interested in how topology, dynamics, and multiscale representations constrain one another in complex networks, and in developing Bayesian inference methods to recover latent structure, dynamical mechanisms, and model parameters. His work also engages with higher-order networks as a modelling framework for complex interactions, with an eye towards real-world systems such as animal communication and biological interaction networks.
He holds a BSc in Mathematics and Applied Mathematics from Zhejiang University of Technology and an MSc in Statistics from Shanghai University.
