Biography

Dr Yu-Chun Pan is an experienced educator in information systems, experiential learning, and interdisciplinary education. He serves as the Faculty Director for Computing, Mathematics, Engineering & Natural Sciences (CoMENS) and Director of Experiential Learning at Northeastern University London, where he is also an Associate Professor in Digital Transformation. A Senior Fellow of Advance HE (SFHEA), Dr Pan is deeply committed to fostering innovative, hands-on learning experiences that bridge the gap between academia and industry.


With a PhD in Business Informatics from Henley Business School (University of Reading, UK), an MSc in Strategic Supply Chain Management from the University of East Anglia (UK), and a BA in Advertising from National Chengchi University (Taiwan), he brings a unique multidisciplinary perspective to his work.


As Faculty Director, he provides strategic leadership and management for CoMENS, overseeing five key disciplines: Computing & Information Systems, Data & AI, Bioscience & Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics & Engineering. His role ensures that these fields thrive through innovative teaching, research, and collaboration.


In his role as Director of Experiential Learning, Dr Pan leads the development of cutting-edge experiential learning initiatives, working closely with students, faculty, and external partners across London and the Northeastern Global University System. His mission is to create transformative, real-world learning experiences that empower students with the skills and insights needed to excel in an ever-evolving digital landscape.

Research

Dr Pan’s research interest mainly focuses on the intersection of humans and technology, as well as pedagogy, particularly in playfulness and technology use in learning and teaching.

Teaching

Dr Pan has taught a variety of subjects, including project management, change management, and technology management, and his innovative and engaging teaching methods have earned him several accolades. In 2018, he was awarded the UWL University Teaching Fellowship, followed by a nomination for the National Teaching Fellowship in 2019. He was also appointed as Northeastern University Teaching Inquiry Fellow in 2022.
