Northeastern University London is delighted to celebrate the achievements of our graduating students at this year’s formal graduation ceremony. This momentous occasion marks the culmination of your academic journey and the beginning of your next chapter as a member of our distinguished alumni community.

Graduation Ceremony Details

Save the date: 7th July 2026
Venue: Barbican Hall, Silk St, Barbican, London EC2Y 8DS
Time: 10:00AM – 4PM
 
The ceremonies will feature a conferral of degrees along with addresses from senior university representatives, distinguished faculty, and student representatives. A celebratory reception will follow, providing an opportunity to mark the occasion with family, friends, and faculty.
 

Ceremony Schedule


Graduating students and their guests will need to arrive at the Barbican Centre entrance at 10:00 and follow the signposts to the gowning and photography in the Barbican Hall foyer. Morning refreshments will also be available in the foyer for all students and guests. Information on how to get to Barbican Centre can be found in the ‘Getting to Barbican Centre’ section below.

Your guests will need to take their seats in Barbican Hall 30 minutes prior, for the ceremony to commence at 13:00. The ceremony will be followed by a drinks and canapé reception in the foyer. Further information, such as the order of awards, will be shared with graduating students and their guests on the day.


Essential Information for Graduates


RSVP and Guest Tickets – Each graduand is entitled to three (3) guest tickets, with additional tickets available subject to capacity. Click here to request tickets by May 7th, 2026.

Academic Dress – All graduands are required to wear the official university academic dress, which must be ordered in advance by May 7th, 2026. Click here to reserve your cap and gown.

Photography – Professional photography services will be available at the venue, but it is recommended to pre-book to avoid delays and guarantee a photograph. Click here to book photography.

Post-Ceremony Celebrations


Following the formal proceedings, graduates and their guests are invited to a reception where light refreshments will be served. This is an opportunity to celebrate your success with fellow graduates, faculty members, and university staff.

Getting to The Barbican Centre


For further information on getting to Barbican Centre, please see the Barbican Centre website. There will be Student Ambassadors in place to guide you and your guests. The ceremony will take place in Barbican Hall, and the drinks reception will take place in the foyer. A free cloakroom will be available for use in the foyer.
