Devon House facilities

Devon House features a variety of flexible spaces, along with Wi-Fi, coffee and tea points, printers, first aid rooms, and lockers. There’s also secure bike storage available within the perimeter.

One Portsoken facilities

Portsoken’s high vantage point at the edge of London’s financial district offers a 360-degree view of the skyline, including famous landmarks like Tower Bridge, the Tower of London, The Shard, and St Mary Axe (dubbed “The Gherkin” by Londoners).

Two more floors in One Portsoken are due to open by autumn 2025. Plans include chemistry, biology, and physics laboratories, as well as workshops for engineering and a makerspace. 

Directions to campus

By London Underground
  • Tower Hill Station (Circle & District lines) 5-10 minutes’ walk.
  • Aldgate Station (Circle & Metropolitan lines) 17 minutes’ walk/ 8 minutes’ bike.
By National Rail
  • London Bridge Station 18 minutes’ walk/ 9 minutes’ bike/ 17 minutes’ boat & walk.
  • Liverpool Street Station 29 minutes’ walk/ 13 minutes’ bike/ 20 minutes’ Tube & walk.
By Bus
  • The area is well served by bus routes. The following bus routes stop at St Katharine Docks 100, 108 and the N551. The following stop at Tower Gateway 343, and 78, and the 15 stops at the Tower of London.
By River Boat
  • Devon House is a 500 metre walk from Tower Pier which is served by RB1, RB2, and RB6.
  • At the top of Tower Millennium Pier ramp, turn right. Walk along the embankment with the river on your right for 300 metres. At the Timepiece Sundial sculpture, cross the small footbridge over the water. Turn left, walk 50 metres and then take the first right, walk another 50 metres and Devon House is on your right.
By Docklands Light Railway
  • Tower Gateway – 5-10 minute walk. 
  • Shadwell Station 20 minutes’ walk/ 7 minutes’ bike.
By Car
  • Parking in central London is expensive – try booking ahead on Just Park to save money.
  • Congestion Charge – £15 every day you drive into central London, must be paid online advance or on the day to avoid a fine.
  • ULEZ payable if you drive into the zone in a non Euro 6 or better emissions car – again must be paid online advance or on the day to avoid a fine.

Other campus buildings

Marble Quay

Located just across a cobblestoned path from Devon House, you’ll find offices for our professional and academic staff, who ensure the day-to-day running of the university and plan for its future.

Startup Hub

This vibrant hub, located steps away from One Portsoken, is a work-learn space where you can do short-term placements with on-site companies.
