Accessibility & student support: Equal access for all
We are committed to ensuring every member of our community has equal access to facilities and opportunities. Across our campus you will find step-free access, lifts, and accessible washrooms across all sites, multi-faith rooms, wellbeing services, and sensory support.
Support is available to create a Learning Support Plan tailored to your needs, showers for active commutes including one fully wheelchair-accessible shower, easy hydration through accessible hot and cold-water filtered water taps, wide access lanes that make arrival smooth and stress-free, and hearing loops.
Building-specific accessibility features
Each of our four campus buildings incorporates comprehensive accessibility measures. Devon House (embed link to DH page) features four lifts connecting all areas with clearly marked accessible entrances and gates, wheelchair accessible showers, accessible washrooms on every level including newly refurbished facilities, and reception areas designed with wide access lanes.
One Portsoken
provides lift access to the upper floors with wide gates and entrances clearly marked, accessible WC facilities on each floor, state-of-the-art laboratories designed with accessibility in mind, and wheelchair-accessible 360° city views so everyone can enjoy the stunning London skyline. Staff hot desks can be booked in advance and are fully wheelchair accessible.
The Start-up Hub
offers full access across both ground and lower ground floors, inclusive facilities with accessible WC and meeting rooms throughout the building, modern and flexible workspaces and meeting areas created with accessibility in mind, and a tech-equipped boardroom that includes built-in accessibility features.
Marble Quay
provides professional workspace accessibility for staff and PhD students with flexible booking systems and inclusive design throughout.

Comprehensive support services
Our Student Support Team works individually with students to develop personalized Learning Support Plans that address specific academic, physical, or sensory needs. These plans ensure equal participation in lectures, seminars, group work, and campus activities. Support extends beyond physical accessibility to include academic accommodations, assistive technology guidance, and coordination with external support services when needed.
Sensory considerations
We understand that studying in a busy city environment can sometimes feel overwhelming. Many of our central London classrooms have glass windows to main hallways, and music is often played in the campus hub and café areas.
To help manage sensory stimulation from light and sound, students are encouraged to use tinted glasses, earplugs, or ear defenders when needed. Our Student Support Team can also work with you to create a plan that ensures comfort and equal access across campus life.
Every detail has been considered to help you move easily, study comfortably, and feel fully included in the vibrant academic community that makes Northeastern University London your home in London.
