LEARNING AT NORTHEASTERN UNIVERSITY LONDON

Engage with the world, from the vantage point of a culturally diverse global city.

Three young men walk and smile outside a modern brick building with large windows and a sign that reads "ON HOUSE." The sky is clear and blue, and pedestrians are visible in the background.

Devon House

Devon House facilities

Devon House puts you right at the centre of St Katharine Docks, one of London’s most vibrant waterfront communities. Just a short walk from the Tower of London and Tower Bridge, this is where history and modern city life meet.

Step outside and you’ll find yourself surrounded by marina views, independent cafés, global restaurants, and lively spots to meet friends. Whether you’re grabbing coffee between classes, catching up with friends over dinner, or simply enjoying the riverside atmosphere, Devon House makes London’s energy part of your everyday student experience.

Campus Hub

The Campus Hub is the lively heart of Devon House. It’s where you’ll grab a coffee, meet friends, join a study group, or just relax between classes. With plenty of seating, games like pool, foosball, ping-pong, and even a basketball net, it’s a space designed to help you unwind and connect. Music is often played in the background, and the atmosphere is shaped by students, making it feel like your own space in the middle of London.

Three people walk down a brightly lit staircase in a modern office building, smiling and talking together. The space has glass walls, plants, and an open, contemporary design.

Silent study zone

When you need to focus, Silent Study Zones provide calm, distraction-free spaces. Tucked away from the buzz of campus life, they offer the perfect spot for writing essays, revising for exams, or deep reading. Comfortable desks, good lighting, and a respectful, quiet atmosphere mean you’ll always have somewhere to concentrate and get work done.

A woman sits alone at a round table in a modern library, reading a book. She is surrounded by bookshelves filled with books, and the space is bright with contemporary decor.

Accessibility features

Devon House is designed to be welcoming and accessible so every student can make the most of their time here.

• height adjustable classroom furniture is available to students across our campus
• step-free access throughout: four lifts connect all areas of the building, with clearly marked accessible entrances and gates.
• accessible washrooms on every level: multiple WC facilities are available across the building, including newly refurbished accessible toilets and showers.
• showers for active commutes: showers are available near the bike store, including one fully wheelchair-accessible shower.
• easy hydration: accessible hot and cold-water filtered water taps are in the campus hub.
• Reception designed for all: wide access lanes on both sides of the desk make arrival smooth and stress-free.

Every detail has been considered to help you move easily, study comfortably, and feel fully included in campus life.

The terrace

Right on the banks of the River Thames, the building’s terrace is one of the most scenic spots on campus. With spectacular views of Tower Bridge and the water, it’s the perfect place to take a break between classes, catch up with friends, or just soak in the riverside atmosphere. Whether you’re looking for a quiet moment outdoors or a social space to connect, the courtyard brings together the best of city life and campus community.

Terrace guidelines

To keep this space safe and enjoyable for everyone:
• smoking and alcohol are not permitted, and no events are permitted on the terrace
• for your safety, please don’t sit on the Thames-side wall — the river is deep, tidal, and fast-flowing
• remember, this area is shared with the public, so let’s keep it welcoming for all
