Application Deadlines

Home students

We accept applications for master’s degrees on a rolling basis, so you can apply at any time of year. However, places do fill quickly, so we recommend applying early to secure your spot.

International students

Apply as early as possible, and ideally at least three months before your start date and if you’re aiming for a January start, remember that holiday closures in December and January may slow visa processing – so apply early!

How to Apply

Step 1 | Submit your online application

Applications are accepted year-round on a rolling basis.

Your personal statement (up to 4,000 characters) should cover:

  • why you’ve chosen your programme.
  • relevant experiences, interests, or academic background.
  • why Northeastern University London is the right fit for you.

Step 2 | Provide your referee’s contact details

We ask for contact details of one referee who has taught or worked closely with you in an academic or professional context. We will contact your referee directly to request a reference.

Please ensure your referee is aware that they may be contacted by our admissions team and is prepared to provide a reference on your behalf.

Step 3 | Get your decision

You’ll normally hear back within a few weeks. If successful, you’ll receive a formal offer letter with clear next steps.

Entry Requirements

  • 2:2 undergraduate degree or above (or international equivalent).
  • mature students with professional experience are strongly encouraged to apply – we value practical expertise as well as academic achievement.
  • some programmes may have additional entry requirements – check the relevant degree programme page for details.

Are there work opportunities during my studies?

International students on a student visa studying full-time at the university can work up to 20 hours per week during term time, and full-time during university holidays.
