Master’s degree tuition fees and funding

Tuition fee scholarships

We offer generous scholarships towards master’s tuition fees. Tuition fees vary depending on the programme you choose and whether you are a home or international student. Please see individual degree programme pages for details.

Home student funding

The UK Government Postgraduate Master’s Loan provides funding of up to £12,858 per student for postgraduate master’s study in the U.K. and is available for students who are normally domiciled in England.

The Postgraduate Master’s Loan is to help with your course and living costs while you’re studying and has to be repaid.

There are separate loans for students domiciled in Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland.

To apply for a Postgraduate Master’s Loan, you must:

  • be a UK or Irish Citizen or have ‘settled status’ (no restrictions on how long you can stay in the UK)
  • normally live in England
  • have been living in the UK, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man for 3 continuous years before the first day of your course, apart from temporary absences such as going on holiday.

Applications for Postgraduate Master’s Loans for all our master’s programmes are now open.

Chevening Scholarships funding

Chevening Scholarships for international students are the U.K. government’s global scholarship programme, offering scholarships funding to emerging leaders all over the world to pursue a master’s degree programme in the U.K. They are funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and partner organisations.

Chevening Scholarships are fully funded, covering the cost of tuition fees, flights and accommodation. Scholarships are typically awarded for a one-year master’s degree.
