Applications have now closed.

What is the Get Ahead Programme?

Taking place on Tuesday 25 July – Thursday 27 July 2023, our three-day summer school programme is available for students in Year 11.

This Summer School is an excellent opportunity to help you prepare for Sixth Form or College, meet new people and enhance your skills.

Are you driven, hard-working, and curious? Do you crave new experiences and love to challenge yourself? Worried about starting Sixth Form or College? This Summer School aims to give you a head start and help you get prepared for the years ahead.

What will I learn?

In this programme, you will:

  • Build skills to help you succeed as you transition into Sixth Form or College and beyond, including sessions on study skills, well-being and budgeting.
  • Participate in academic taster sessions in Law, Economics and History, giving you an insight into studying these subjects at university.
  • Experience a taste of university life, by spending time at our campus in central London.
  • Get involved with social activities out and about in London.

Our friendly Student Ambassadors (current Northeastern University London students) will be on hand to support you through the programme and to answer any questions about university life.

When will this programme take place?

Tuesday 25 July – Thursday 27 July 2023 from 10.30 am – 5.00 pm each day.

It will be non-residential so you will be expected to travel to our campus each day.

Where will the programme take place?

At our campus in the heart of London, Devon House, St Katharine’s Way London E1W 1JP.  You can find directions and travel information on our How To Find Us page.

How much does it cost to attend?

The Summer School is completely free to attend, including programme materials, breakfast and lunch each day and any social activities that you’ll participate in.

Travel is not included but we can offer reimbursements to those that meet certain criteria.

Who is the programme for?

The programme is open to those that are currently in Year 11 and will be going into Sixth Form or College from September.

As students will be required to travel to our campus each day you will need to live within commutable distance to central London.
