Frequently asked questions
Can I look to stay in alternative accommodation?
No. All London Scholars and Semester-In students are required to live in university-sponsored housing assigned by Northeastern University London Housing for the entire duration of the program. There is no option to waive the residential requirement. This policy is in place, among other reasons, to ensure staff can provide support in emergency situations, foster connections among students, and help ease the transition to both London and the program.
Is a meal plan included?
No, there is no meal plan provided. In London, each student apartment will have a kitchen, including a mini fridge and stove top, so students are expected to prepare their own meals. This is a common aspect of the U.K. university experience.
What is included in the bedding and kitchen packs?
When you arrive at your Residence Hall, you will receive both a bedding pack and a kitchen pack to help you settle in comfortably. The bedding pack contains essential items, including a duvet with its cover, a fitted sheet, pillows, and pillowcases, ensuring you have everything you need for a good night’s sleep.
The kitchen pack is designed to provide you with basic cooking essentials and includes a pot, a pan, a mug, plates, a bowl, cutlery, and cooking utensils like a spatula.
