Biography


Anton Dinev joined NU London in January 2023 as a part-time Lecturer in EU and Competition Law (from Vrije Universiteit Brussel), after working as a Counsel at the Brussels office of a large law firm. He then moved to a full-time appointment, serving as Assistant Professor of EU and Competition Law, with secondary teaching responsibilities in Contracts, Company Law, and LLB Dissertation (September 2023 – November 2025), and now Associate Professor of Law (since December 2025). Additionally, he served as Director of Global Partneships (January 2024 – October 2025)

Research


Anton Dinev acted as International Competition Network (ICN) non-governmental advisor (NGA) for the European Commission (DG COMP), from July 2019 to December 2023. He is also a member of the editorial boards of World Competition (Wolters Kluwer) and the Journal of Antitrust Enforcement (OUP). Most recently, he co-edited a themed issue on the new VBER for the European Competition Law Review (ECLR).


Other research projects and publications include a co-authored chapter in Barry Rodger and Or Brook (eds.), Mapping Judicial Review of National Competition Authorities Competition Law Decisions and a national report in Bert Keirsbilck, Evelyne Terryn, Elisa Paredis, and Tom Verdonk (eds.), Third UTP Roundtable: Implementation of Directive (EU) 2019/633 concerning unfair trading practices in business-to-business relationships in the agricultural and food supply chain (“UTP’s”) in the EU-27.
