Biography

Dr Diana Bozhilova completed her doctoral degree at King’s College London. She then held posts at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and at King’s College London (KCL), before joining Northeastern University London as Head of Faculty and Associate Professor in Politics and International Relations. She has been the Associate Dean of Global Impact and Sustainability since 2023.

Diana has served on parliamentary select committees. She is a published author on democratisation and reform since the end of the Cold War, on energy security and energy transition, and on inter-regionalism. Diana is the recipient of research grants and reviews manuscripts in the areas of her interests.

Research

Dr Diana Bozhilova attained her doctoral degree in Justice and Home Affairs and Industrial Policy Reform from the King’s College London European and International Studies Department. She was then elected to a Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). She is the holder of several Visiting Research Fellowships at King’s College London and the recipient of research grants, focusing on energy security and energy transition, sustainable development and social return on investment.

Teaching

Dr Diana Bozhilova was Head of Faculty of Politics and International Relations, Sociology and Anthropology from 2013 until 2023.

In her present role as the Associate Dean of Global Impact and Sustainability, she oversees all Northeastern University network programmes running in London, the ‘Semester Abroad’ (London Degree students), and develops partnerships and collaborations for the Northeastern University London degree programmes. Diana is the Deputy Chair of the Northeastern University London Sustainability Committee and develops strategic documents and action plans in the area of sustainable development.

Diana is the course leader of undergraduate and postgraduate courses on Sustainable Development and supervises PhD students in EU policy and environmental transitions.
